Are the centers licensed?
Yes; each center is licensed through the State of Michigan. We hold a 3 star rating with the Great Start to Quality, Michigan’s Child Care Network. Several of our caregivers have received TEACH (Teacher Education and Compensation Help) program scholarships en route to earning CDA credentials.
Days open and hours of operation
Happy Elephant Child Care Centers are open year-round.
We are closed for the observance of these holidays: Thanksgiving Day and Friday after, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
Hours are Monday through Friday from 5:30am—6pm.

Is the staff trained in CPR and First Aid?
Staff are certified in both CPR and First Aid. At least two certified personnel are on site at each of our centers during open hours.
What kind of security systems do you have in place?
Each center keeps doors locked at all times - a door buzzer system for entry is always used with staff person attending the door and providing access.
What are the discipline policies?
We are proactive about sustaining a nurturing and positive environment for all of our children. Whenever possible, incidents or issues are addressed in person by Director with parent or guardian. In case of further difficulties we always offer a sit down meeting with Director, Manager, parent and the staff member as necessary. Parents are contacted immediately in case of illness or injury.
Does the infant program accommodate breastfeeding mothers?
Yes; we provide private space to accommodate breastfeeding.
Does the center accommodate children with special developmental or medical needs?
Yes; we work closely with parents or guardians to accommodate special needs and help strengthen the trust between children and caregivers. Learn more here.
Are parents able to visit the classroom?
Yes; families are always welcome and invited to participate in what is happening in the classroom. We also encourage parents interested in enrolling their child to schedule a tour.
Are there any additional fees beyond tuition?
A registration fee is due in September and prorated for enrollment at different times. Fees for late pickup after 6pm also apply. Full tuition information is available upon request.
